Academic and Experience :
With 17 years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Manimurugan has gained extensive knowledge in various fields of Computer Science and Engineering. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Anna University, Chennai, India in 2005 and his Master’s degree from Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, India in 2007, both with first-class honors. He received his Ph.D. from Anna University, Chennai, India in May 2012 for his highly acclaimed doctoral thesis titled “Certain Investigations on Medical Image Encryption and Compression,” earning a CGPA of 9.0 out of 10 in the Ph.D. coursework examinations.
Administrative and other Responsibilities :
He has held various academic and research positions, including Principal In-charge, Head of the Department, Foreign Examiner, Indian Examiner for Ph.D. programs in various Indian Universities, IEEE Conference Chair and Advisory Committee member, Exam Coordinator, Consultancy In-charge, ISTE In-charge, PG Campus Management System (CMS) Coordinator, and Disciplinary Committee member. He is also a Council member of the University Website and ranking improvement.
Research :
Dr. Manimurugan has published 119 research papers in several international and national journals and conferences indexed by ISI, Thomson Reuters/Clarivate Analytics, Scopus, and IEEE. He serves as an Associate Editor in IET Image Processing and has also acted as a guest editor and reviewer for various national and international journals, including Elsevier, Springer, and IEEE. He has received numerous grants (totaling 317,705.08 USD) and patents from government bodies such as the Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi, India, and the Ministry of Higher Education, Saudi Arabia.
Awards and Honors :
Dr. Manimurugan has received awards for the Best Researcher of the University in 2023 and the Best Publication in 2023 from the University of Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Additionally, he was honored with the Best Class Award by ACE (Association of Computer Engineers), Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (Deemed to be University), India in 2011.
